MATERIALS AND CARE

Caring for your knitwear

Cate Mullally knitwear products are made using luxurious natural wool's, that are breathable and hypoallergenic, with natural insulating and odour resistant properties.
Your knitwear has been made with care, so here is how to look after your woollen wears to ensure longevity.

DRY CLEANING

Spills & Stains

Dry cleaning your woollens is always recommended, treat any spills as soon as possible, blot any excess liquid quickly using an absorbent material. Using a lint-free cloth, dab with cold water. Air-dry flat, away from direct sunlight.

HAND WASHING

Drying & Pressing

Most of our products, made with Merino wool can either be dry cleaned or hand washed in cool water no hotter than 30 degrees, using a non-biological detergent -look out for the Woolmark for specific detergents for cleaning wool.
Roll your knitwear to squeeze out excess water and dry flat, away from heat or direct sunlight.
A steam iron on a cool setting can be used if required.

JUST A LITTLE FRESHEN UP

If your garments just need freshening up another method is to hang them in the bathroom whilst taking a shower, leaving the steam to do all the work.

The power of steam

BALLS!

Of Fluff

Overtime friction on your knitwear can cause balls of fluff to form on the surface, otherwise known as bobbling or pilling. To remove you can use a pilling comb on your knitwear.

MOTHS

Pesky things

To help to deter moths, keep your knitwear fresh and clean especially when stored. Storing with cedar wood or lavender bags is a natural way to keep moths at bay.
